Food

Come for the waves. Stay for the cooking.

Rooftop breakfasts with the ocean in view, and home-cooked three-course Moroccan dinners by Simo’s mum — the meal guests still talk about long after they’ve gone home.

Breakfast spread: teapot, msemen pancakes, eggs, fruit and juices

mornings

Breakfast with the ocean on the table.

Mornings start on the rooftop: msemen and fresh bread, eggs, fruit, juice and rounds of mint tea, with the Atlantic doing its thing beyond the rail. The spread is continental-style and genuinely flexible — vegetarian, vegan, halal and gluten-free options are all catered for.

“And the breakfast with views was so good.”

evenings

Simo’s mum cooks. You’ll want to be there.

Some evenings the house smells like a Moroccan kitchen should, because it is one. Simo’s mother — who runs the house with him — cooks a home-style, three-course Moroccan dinner that guests can order in advance for an extra charge. It’s eaten together, at the long table, slowly.

“He offered us dinner (which we paid for additionally) — super delicious 3-course Moroccan meal which we loved!”

Rituals

Mint tea is a love language here.

Poured from a height, over cards on the surfboard table, or brewed over driftwood coals down on the beach — tea punctuates the day at hyle the way the tide punctuates the surf.
